Job Description
Role: Data Engineering Fabric
Work Experience: 8-12 years
 
Responsibilities:
Lead the design and delivery of enterprise-scale data solutions leveraging Microsoft Fabric (Lakehouse, Synapse Data Engineering, Data Factory, Direct Lake, and Power BI).
Translate business requirements into scalable, secure, and cost-optimized data platform architectures.
Establish data governance, quality, lineage, and stewardship practices using Microsoft Purview and Fabric-native features.
Define, document, and enforce best practices for ingestion, transformation, and modeling across the Medallion architecture (Bronze/Silver/Gold layers).
Oversee ingestion pipelines, transformation logic, and semantic models, ensuring high performance and scalability.
Support pre-sales efforts by providing product, technical, and business expertise for proposals, customer presentations, and/or tailored software demonstrations.
Lead delivery teams and mentor a young and talented delivery team, providing them with leadership, knowledge, support, and experience.
Partner with stakeholders, architects, and product owners to align data solutions with business objectives.
Mentor and manage a pod of engineers (Senior Consultant + Consultant), ensuring skill development and delivery excellence.
Collaborate with enterprise IT teams (security, networking, identity, governance) to ensure end-to-end compliance.
Contribute to estimation, project planning, and delivery oversight, ensuring projects are completed on time and within scope.
Identify opportunities for improvement in our data architecture processes, and proactively recommend strategies for optimization and efficiency.
Stay current with advancements in Microsoft Fabric, Databricks, Spark, and Azure Data Services, proactively recommending adoption strategies.
 
Experience:
8+ years in data engineering/architecture, with 3–5 years in a leadership or consulting role.
Hands-on expertise with Microsoft Fabric components:
Lakehouse (Delta tables, Medallion architecture)
Synapse Data Engineering (Spark and SQL engines)
Data Factory pipelines and Dataflows
Direct Lake + Power BI for analytics
Strong knowledge of Databricks, Spark, SQL, and ADF for hybrid and migration scenarios.
Experience in providing pre-sales support, including developing proposals and conducting demonstrations for data architecture solutions.
Experience with scoping, estimating, cost analysis, and resource planning of projects.
Experience designing governed data platforms, including metadata, lineage, and security frameworks (Purview or equivalent).
Proficiency in SQL, Python, and PySpark for transformations and data wrangling.
Experience with CI/CD, DevOps practices, and workspace management in Fabric or Azure.
Proven ability to lead teams, manage delivery timelines, and mentor engineers.
Strong communication skills with the ability to present technical solutions to both executive and technical audiences.

Microsoft Certified: Fabric Data Engineer Associate (DP-700)
Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert (AZ-305)
 
Educational Qualifications – BE/BTech/MCA
